All I can say that I’m pretty darn proud to be Norwegian right now. And yes, I am pretty hyped up too. I blame the flash mob. Dear god, it was incredibly awesome and I completely lack words (and my English is getting uglier by the minute). I’ll be writing a proper post when I am not so exited. Just watch the video under the text. Also, and Germany’s Lena and Alexander Rybak make an incredibly cute couple. Kind of wishful thinking I guess but… xD
I realized I hadn’t written anything since the day before my first exam. Yes, I am alive. The exam itself actually went pretty well. I do not expect any extraordinary grades or something, but I know I’ll pass. The last few days went by in a hurry, except for Monday. I’d bought too little food, and ended up spending the day being hungry since the stores were closed. I guess that’s pretty much it. xD I visited Wok Away again after my exam last Friday, as a treat for finishing. Good stuff, good stuff! And I just love their concept. It is a bit sad that I won’t be able to visit them every now and then, now that I’m moving back to Oslo though. They’ve got good food.
Yes! I’ll be moving back to Oslo (just in case I haven’t mentioned it around 1000 times already). In fact, I’ll be moving back in less than TWO WEEKS! Rejoice! God, I’m exited. But at the same time, a little sad. There’s still a bunch of stuff I could have done here in Trondheim. And it is a really pretty city. However, it’s not like I’m leaving for good. I still have family up here, and I’ll still be able to visit Trondheim every now and then. I’m not dead yet or something. Two years of my life have been spent here, but it doesn’t really feel like it. And I’m kind of nervous about breaking off my studies, and then start again at the University of Oslo. I think I’ll manage somehow though.
The next few days will be spent packing, sewing costumes, and preparing for my HIST1110 exam; Ancient History. I still need to finish my friend’s Someya Mako costume, and get started on my own Takei Hisa (both from -Saki-). We’ll be bringing awesome, sparkling mahjong to Desucon, so watch out! Well, not really, but at least we’ll bring mahjong. To play. If we have the time. Probably not. But maybe before Desucon! They are -Saki- costumes, after all. And oh god, packing. I’m not looking forward to it. So much! And I’ve recently gotten my hands on some more merchandise too…
Not to mention the mountain of books I have aquired, and the 30 issues of COSMODE Magazine resting peacefully at my desk. And the vacum cleaner. And my 10 litre casserole. And my new shelf. And my TV / computer screen. And the bench. Oh dear… I really hope we’ll manage to bring all of it back.
I’ll go back to playing some Pokémon SoulSilver and watching the Eurovision semi-finals now. n_n
As a pause in my exam readings, I talked a little bit with a friend of mine. She asked me what I was supposed to do next year. And then we wandered off into discussing the future. A very bad thing do to really, I have my first exam tomorrow. xD Anyway, we did. And we suddenly got into the topic of where we see ourselves in 10 years. This blogpost will revolve around this, it is kind of interesting to think about. What do I want? What do I expect? And most of all, will anything of it come true?
In 10 years, I will be 31 years old. Hopefully, I have finished my teacher education, and will be working at a high school somewhere. Not in the middle of Oslo, but somewhere in the outskirts or close to the capital. I don’t like schools in Oslo, mainly because I am a bit scared of them, so I figure a school in the outskirts will be a bit more safe for me to work at.
In 10 years, I will have a place of my own. Hopefully together with a certain someone. This is probably the thing I want the most. I’m tired of student appartments and people not having respect for one’s property. Also, to be able to wake up with the person you love the most is probably the most wonderful thing in the world, isn’t it? I’m a sucker for such stories. I want to clean, make breakfast, dinner, etc… I guess I’m kind of the housewife-type. Except not being too good at making food. But I manage (my dorm-dinner was actually praised, so hah!).
Other than having a place to live, someone to be with, and a proper job, my expectations are pretty low. I guess that is more than enough really. If it does happen, I will be one lucky person. n_n But one can’t predict the future!
A bit late for the May 17th post, but I have excuses! xD I went back to Trondheim on Tuesday, and I’ve spent today reading nonstop since 09:00 a.m., so there haven’t really been any time left for blogging.
My May 17th was nothing out of the ordinary. We celebrated, barbequed, enjoyed ourselves, etc. Very cozy, I like spending time with my family. I got up at 7:00 a.m. to put on my bunad. I own a Østfoldbunad, and I love it! I actually feel pretty proud wearing it. Anyway, after one hour of getting dressed, we headed out to pick up my grandmother before the childrens parade were to start. It was a bit weird to see my old marching band going at it without me, I’ve been playing with them since I was 7 years old. xD
After the childrens parade, we went up to the elementary school; the usual gathering place. There are games and kiosks and stuff going on between the different parades. For the first time ever (I think), we went to Skiptvet to visit my stephfather’s parents. Got some pretty yummy mashed potatoes and a hotdog, and watched the childrens parade in Skiptvet as well. Then we headed to Askim to look at my brother participating in the parade for this year’s russ. After this, me and my brother went to visit our dad’s. It was his birthday as well, so we stopped by with a gift and sat there to chat a bit. After a while, we went back to my mom’s to barbeque together with my aunt’s family.
All in all, a very good day. Only thing missing was my boyfriend, but that’s my own fault for not having the time to go to Oslo. xD
Desucon is an annual Japanese culture, Sci-Fi and fantasy convention. The venue is arranged for the fifth time this year, and is Norway’s biggest event of this kind. This year’s Desucon will be held at Oslo Congress Centre 26th and 27th of June.

Started off with an image taken from my window today. Pretty nice weather this evening, perfect for getting rid of Makkuro Kurosuke at my dorm room. Especially from the windows. For those who haven’t watched any Ghibli-films, Makkuro Kurosuke are the name given to susuwatari, tiny soot creatures with big blinking eyes, by Mei in Totoro. They like dark cracks in the walls at abandoned houses and such. Even if my dorm room isn’t abandoned, I like to think I have some susuwatari to look after it while I’m not home. But even Makkuro Kurosuke needs to be cleaned up sometimes.
I also have some huge cake plans for a special meet-up not so far into the future. Basically, I’ll need a black pen with edible ink. Anyone know where I can get that as a single pen and not part of a set? Preferably in the Oslo-area, or on the internet or something. I won’t say what it’ll look like until I can take some pictures, so stay tuned!
Some of my cosplay costumes were donated to Fretex today, as well as my old karate uniform. I still have my new one, so that I might start up practicing again this autumn. I think I need to. >.< And I sent a finished costume off to Kristiansand! I hope it arrives in good condition and that she’ll be happy with it. n_n
Today was my last official school day here at NTNU, Trondheim. I just have to take two exams in May, and I’ll be finished. Somewhat strange to think about. I’m a bit sad leaving, because it is a very pretty and nice city to live in, but then again, I think another year up here would make me a social wreck beyond recognition. After this summer, I’ll be closer to my boyfriend, family and friends in Oslo. I’ll also have a lot more topics to choose from at UiO when I, sometime in the future, will write my degree paper.
Oh, and I went to this wonderful place called Adamstuen Antikvariat in Trondheim today! They actually bought all of my unwanted manga. I was pretty surprised, I thought I would just have to give them away or something. But I got 100 NOK for them all, which is about 4,5 NOK each book, but who cares! I got paid. xD You should check this shop out sometime, they actually have quite a selection of old comics and books and such. The man behind the counter was very helpful too.
I’m kind of in a super-good mood right now. I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep quite yet. Been watching some more Personal Taste (k-drama), and I’ve completely fallen for this series. The only downside is that I am constantly reminded of my boyfriend during each episode, and end up missing him a whole lot more than when I started watching it. I had one of my thinking-nights last night as well, and ended up with a bunch of questions I want to ask him when he has the time to answer them, haha. xD I am too curious about stuff, sorry about that. <:
A quick update before I go to sleep. Today has been boring, with the exeption of a couple of hours when I talked about… eum, secret stuff (I’m sorry, I -really- can’t tell you what this is, haha) with a fellow member of a certain secret organisation, and the last few hours when Hiep got home from work and was there to keep me company. However, today has also brought some good news!
I’ve finished my Marevan treatment, thank god! I just have to take these pills for another week, but no further doctor appointments until a single check-up in the beginning of June. No more needles. No more waiting for appointments. No more pills. Happy Camilla is happy. I just hope the check-up in June goes nicely as well, or else I might be stuck taking blood thinners in Japan. Something which is not likely to happen really, since blood thinners need to be checked up on rather regularly; from once a month to twice a week.
Another thing is the fact that my awesome mom wanted me to come home in May and paid over half of my travel expenses to get there. I had to tell her that I was unable to come home for 17th May, the Norwegian Constitution Day, this year due to being practically broke. I ran in to some unexpected expenses when my face suddenly got swollen. Turns out my acne had decided to pay a visit again, after I got off the birth control pills. Bye-bye, 2000 NOK. D: (which is around 340 US dollars if you wondered). That’s -a whole lot- to pay for a student without a job. Anyway, my mother helped me in exchange for babysitting my aunt’s dogs and cats (which itself is more of a gift than a proper job), and cleaning the house. Not bad, eh? I’ll be flying from Trondheim next Saturday, 8th May.
It’s been almost a week since I left Mysen and headed back for Trondheim. Not much has happened since then, Trondheim is a rather boring place to be right now, since most of the people either are home during their pre-exam period, or stuck at libraries all day preparing. My dorm is the exeption I guess, but I don’t feel like joining them in getting drunk every week-end (and sometimes during week-days as well), or ruining the hall by playing ball-games inside. I’m also a bit mad that they don’t respect other people’s property. My tableware’s pretty much broken, from tiny cups to dinner plates. Thanks guys! *sigh*
I’ve started preparing for my exams. I’m attending some sort of pre-exam seminar later on today, there’s two of these left. I figured they would be rather helpful. Since I didn’t manage to attend the last one, I think I’ll ask our supervisor if I can get the tasks from last time’s session to prepare myself for the upcoming exams. I do have a good explanation for my absense, so I think it will be okay. At least I hope so.
I’ve sold quite a lot of my stuff too! Tharanee’s been so kind to buy all my Inu Yasha volumes and my Fullmetal Alchemist artbook. She’ll get a volume of Cardcaptor Sakura as a gift. xD She also presented my C.C.-costume to her sister, and guess what she did! She bought it. *squeeel* I’m so happy it’ll finally be used! I also sold her my C.C. wig, since I won’t be needing it. I still have a lot to get rid of, both costumes and books. Check out these links to see if you find something interesting! (I will ship overseas too, but shipping from Norway is rather expensive, so the rates might be a bit high.)
Other than that, comissions are coming along pretty nicely. I’ve been working on a Chii-costume for quite a while, and I finished it yesterday. All that’s left is to send the buyer a mail and get some shipping arrangements done. After that I’ll be starting on a couple of Saki-costumes, one Takei Hisa for myself, and one Someya Mako for Tharanee. Those are rather simple sailor uniforms, so not too much work, luckily. I’ve ordered a wig for my Sakuya-costume as well, so I think I’m pretty much settled for Desucon now.
Been watching Personal Taste, a korean drama, lately. I wish I had a Sanggojae to live in and an awesome roommate like Jin-ho. xD (My boyfriend kind of reminds me of him sometimes though, even if there are some differenches here and there, haha. xD The cooking part is probably true though, he’s a much better cook than me.)
Well, not really. But I am too darn EXITED that I can’t really seem to fall asleep yet! If I could run around waving my arms right now, I would have done it. There’s so much going on right now, and I love it!
Exitement issue no. 1
Planning for this summer’s trip to Japan just exploded this evening! Our empty calendar is now filled with fun stuff. It’s going to be a tight schedual during our travel week, but I think we will manage just fine. There’s just so much to see, and so little time! We’ll be visiting Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Himeji, Okayama and Hiroshima; all in just one week. The Kyoto schedual is awesome, even though we’ll split up that day. Me and Tharanee will be doing our own girly things such as dressing up as maiko, while the boys (the rest of them actually, we’re only two girls) will be visiting a lot of other things in the area. I’m actually planning the Kyoto-part very carefully, I want to see as much as I possibly can!
